On Friday 18th September here in the activities at Lincolnshire House Benji Taylor held the annual charity quiz to raise money for our WISH (Where Independence Starts at Home) Appeal. Before we held the quiz there was pie and peas which everyone enjoyed. The quiz consisted of fourty questions including a picture quiz, the questions covered music, sport, television, films, history, science, flags, places, numbers and books. There was three raffle prizes and ten teams took part. A big thank you to everyone who helped and supported the evening. The event raised £212.
A big thank you to Mr. Paul Altoft from us all at Lincolnshire House for his completion of the Windsor Half Marathon. Mr. Altoft raised £271 for the WISH Appeal. Thanks to you from us all.
The Sainsbury's fashion show raised £339.50 and was a great success with some fantastic and inovative modelling on the catwalk courtesy of Sainsbury's staff and families. There were merchandise displays from Virgin Vie, Rocks (costume jewellery), Nicola (hairdresser) and the autumn fashion collection from Sainsbury's. The refreshments were a great hit with the coffee cake being a firm favourite.
A big thank you goes out to all the staff at Sainsbury's and everybody who supported the event from us all at Lincolnshire House.
The Christmas decoration auction took place with interest from many parties, this was well attended and to date has raised £377.17. A big thank you goes to Mr. Colin Andilly for donating these items to Lincolnshire House for the WISH Appeal.
The horse racing night was a great success that was enjoyed by many. The night raised a grand total of £673 to go towards the WISH Appeal. The following people sponsored the races:
The Christmas raffle has raised £1,911 to date with many people selling raffle tickets for this fund raising event. Our thanks go to Opus IT Company who sponsored the raffle tickets for this year's draw.
We have now received all the sponsorship monies for the walk that was held in June (although as yet we have still got to collate the Gift Aid), to date we have raised a grand total of £5,256. I would like to thank the following local companies for their contribution to the event - Turner Price Ltd, Sheen Cleen and Three Horseshoes (Scotton). Thanks also go to the many walker's who took their time to particpate in the 12 mile walk. Thanks go to the volunteers who helped to marshall on the day. For all those who wish to take part again the next mid summer walk will take place on Sunday 20th June 2010 starting at the Three Horseshoes.
